Teleworking
The Savlon T3 oil body wash was supposed to leave me with a refreshing after-show sensation. The only thing I'm left with is the same itchy sensation I caught almost a month ago. Advertising and copywriting can mess up peoples expectation. Then again, it's a flawed world. (But it isn't that bad. I still smell an after shower fragance from my armpit each time I scratch).
This week's work pattern totally contrasts the past month's. As you know, my soul seemed semi-sold to my work.In the past month I hardly reflected much on the meaning of life. The last time I reflected, I was halfway shit**ng in my kindergarten's toilet almost missing my ride home. No really, I've done some real-time reflection within the last five years. But wait, this write isn't about my reflections. It's about my new work pattern.
This week, we're experimenting with an alternative concept of work. Teleworking. In layman understanding, teleworking means working anywhere (conceptually). Not working with the TV on. Though that happens. I'm right now working from home. And when I'm out of my home during office hours, I work on my laptop.
Working from home has several benefits. For moms (and dads) who've children you'd want to watch grow daily, this work-concept can help you kill both crows with a stone. You get to secure your ricebowl, and let yourself be visible to your kids. However, discipline must be cultivated. It's very easy to take more short breaks than needed. Very easy to rationalise why you should sleep in a little more. A little sleep, a little slumber and soon poverty will screw you over.
Working in the comforts of your home can be a stress-buster. The last time I worked from my condo, I managed to get more done within a few hours. Stressless. Perhaps it was due to Babu's kooky behaviour in the living room. Babu is my cat that gets a nocturnal high every once in a while. But really, home-work can reduce stress.
It helps me get organised. I'm born without system. I tend to be a big picture person. I can't spot details (unlike Kenneth Ho). Systems are process details that make something work/happen -- to make the big picture work. I'm characterised by a cluttered room, Godzilla-sized collection of sentimental garbage (according to mom. Emphases mine.) and vocabulary lacking the word - NO. When it comes to work, systems are like the spokes of my bicycle wheel, keeping the wheel in shape and mobile. Without it everything crumbles. No one gets anywhere. Working from home has helped inculcate system for the other facets of my messy life. Eat, Drink and regurgitate systems.
I'd like to write more on this but time and cash don't permit me. I'm emailing from a cyber cafe. You see, my phone's cut and my internet account's disabled. Double whammy. This is the cheapest alternative next to parking myself in Starbuck's Wi-Fi facility while sipping a RM 10 something Rhumba Frap. Will write more when I figure how to get online cheaper.

The site I have is a work from home company site. Its all about, need I say it, working from home. I think people should have the choice to build their own income instead of somebody else’s. Freedom of well being and all of that...anyway I was on your site looking for ways to help my business. I'm really looking for ways of building better rapport between recruits.
Anyways lemonademaker thanks for the great blog. I'll just have to carry on my search till I find what I'm looking for. Take care.
